About Me:

Lyla Dawn McBrearty is a talented and dedicated music photographer who focuses on capturing the personality, emotion and energy of musicians, bands and live events. Her approach is to tell a story, from a moment on stage, to the celebration backstage and even in the studio, Lyla’s goal is to make you feel like you were there and connected to the sound and identity of the artist, band or event she’s capturing.

While working across gigs, promos, festivals and events, Lyla has worked with a range of musicians and organisations, which include All Saints, SelCouth Collective, Reading Pride and The Venue Bucks, where she has photographed artists and bands such as Hardy Caprio, Arion Sibley, Misha Dawn TNL VZN, Terminals and Lorenka, reliably producing high-quality work that highlights each performer’s individuality. Her experience and ability to adapt in fast-moving environments of crowds or working around backstage equipment, and on stage with the unpredictability of live performances, make her a reliable and confident choice for clients looking for remarkable work.

Lyla also works with alternative photographic processes, which include printing, cyanotype printing, emulsion lifting and toning methods. She experiments with these skills to creatively produce unique pieces, such as her cyanotype-printed jacket for the Sound of Wycombe project. She enjoys using both traditional and modern techniques to create work that stands out while fitting the needs of bands, agencies and promoters.

Lyla brings professionalism, creativity, and genuine passion to every project and shoot, aiming to support musicians through the lens to visually express their brand and personality with meaning.
